Evaluate the Project and Conduct a Social Impact Study (SORI) on its Effectiveness

Processes for collection and sharing of data on Veterans in the Criminal Justice is established with information now being collated by the RV CJS Project.

All Police Custody Suites across the Warwickshire and West Merica Region are now asking the “Armed Forces Question” this information is shared with the Remember Veterans Project.

The National Probation Service (Warwickshire & West Mercia Clusters & Prison Service (NPPS), HMP Hewell and HMP Featherstone, along with Warwickshire & West Mercia Community Rehabilitation Company (WWMCRC) are now asking the Armed Forces Question and are recording Veteran Status on their IT Systems. The information is being shared with the Remember Veterans Project.

Practice Guidelines for supporting Military Personnel (Serving, Reservists & Ex-Serving)  in the CJS were shared in May 2017 and have been adopted by Warwickshire & West Mercia CRC and The National Probation Service across the area

Veterans within the Criminal Justice are being referred to the Remember Veterans CJS Referral & Helpline Service by telephone and by email. These veterans are referred to Military Charities, Statutory Organisations for help and support.

A dedicated and secure Case Management System (CMS) is in operation to record referrals and track support being provided to Veterans referred to the Remember Veterans Referral & Helpline Service. This service is being provided by the Veterans Contact Point in Nuneaton by Telephone: 02476 348227.
